Summer Camp

The schedule for the summer camp will be different from the fall program. We will spend most of our days away from the center. We will be at the  local playground/parks etc., if your child will be arriving late to camp or not attending camp, please inform your child's teacher so we may leave promptly for field trips.

 

Pool – We will swim at Jeffers Hill pool which is located behind the Center. We will swim two days per week, Monday and Friday from 2:00-3:45. 

• Campers are required to bring a towel 

• Sunscreen – please bring a sunscreen siblings can not share

 

The pool is owned and managed by The Columbia Association. All Columbia Association aquatic division facilities comply with the state of Maryland and Howard County‘s requirement for operating a swimming pool and comply with the state requirements for camps. The facilities have been inspected, certified and approved by the Howard Community department of health and mental hygiene.

 

There will be Columbia Association lifeguards and happy sprouts staff members at the pool and in the water with the children at all times. All children will be required to wear a life vest at all times.

 

The Columbia Association will make the decision if the pool will be closed during inclement weather. Happy Sprouts Learning Center does not make the decision.

Field trips – Campers in the School Age group will ride the Woodlawn Motor Coach Bus to field trips. Permission slips must be filled out for field trips. Please make sure your child is here and on time to participate in all the fun activities.

 

Playground- We will walk to neighborhood playgrounds such as Jeffers Hill playground and Blandair Park/playground. 

• Please make sure your child has comfortable closed toe shoes, a hat, and water bottle. 

• For safety reasons, please make sure your child is wearing the happy sprouts green shirt which has the name of the center and phone number in case of emergencies (NO EXCEPTIONS).
